Atlantex was asked by DSME (a division of Daewoo) to make detailed models of a Wind Turbine support and a Turbine blade. They were building these full sized components right here in Nova Scotia.
The model was to be put on display at various trade shows, so had to be crated up to stand up to the rigors of shipping.
Working from scale drawings, we built the models from high density foam and plastics. Added detail such as laser cut parts & a worker were incorporated to increase the realism. Electric turntable bases were used to slowly rotate the models while on display.
We think it turned out pretty darned good.
To give an idea on scale, the "worker guy" is about 5/8" tall, so painting the workers face took a steady hand and a magnifying glass.
